I’ve heard the story hundreds of times. A client has pain in her knee, foot, or back, wherever really... and is told by their doctor they should “never run again”. Those three words are devastating for runners. Without being able to run, this inactivity can cause people to plummet into depression and anxiety, affecting their relationships not only with themselves, but with their spouse, children, work colleagues, anyone in their daily sphere of contact. As an avid runner myself, I understand the frustration of having an injury hold you back. Often times, clients are told to rest and take time off, or worse, never run again. This is rarely advice I give my clients. With my specialized manual physical therapy, I am able to keep people as active as possible, and get them back to running pain free.

It is my experience that many people who were told they should never run again, are able to get back to it slowly and safely, after releasing the muscles and joints that were inhibiting them. The body is an amazing machine, and with the right care, it can overcome pain and injury to get those miles back up.

Still not convinced-check out Katie’s story.
